Tank Car Weld Inspection

It can be an expensive and time-consuming task to do an inspection of tank cars. However, it is critical to do for safety reasons when transporting hazardous materials. Indicators that an inspection is required may include abrasion, corrosion, cracks, dents, distortions, or defects in welds.

Previously, performing weld inspections on a tank car with a metal jacket required removal of the jacket, which could mean days and hours were wasted taking that jacket off.
